7:00-8:30 p.m. Opening Reception
Reunite with long-standing members and meet new ones from across the country. Six different varietal wines from Germany's fine estates and cooperatives will be showcased -- Riesling, M61ler-Thurgau, Silvaner, Ruländer, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer wines. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres will be served. Be sure to make dinner reservations for this evening. Bob Perna tells us this is a must at the finer area restaurants.

The open tasting of the 12 competition wines will be conducted by Peter M. F. Sichel. Noon - 2:00 p.m. Executive Committee Luncheon Meeting

Saturday, April 19, 1986 (cont'd.) 3:00 p.m. - International Competition Blind Tasting
Non-competitors are invited to test their skills against those of local competition winners who will be contending in a separate room for a slot on the U.S. team going to Germany in September.
7:00 p.m. - Annual Banquet
Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix of the Four Seasons Hotel and Bob Perna have devised a superb menu to honor the evening's fine wines, a selection rarely seen in the U.S. -- including wines from Hessische Bergstrasse, WUrtemberg, Franken and Baden. As a special attraction, the meal will be brought to a close with a 1975 Beerenauslese Eiswein from the estate of August E. Anheuser. Mr. Herbert Anheuser will be on hand to offer personal remarks.

This year's vintage tasting will be conducted by Dr. Reinhard Muth, president of the Association of German Wine Growers.
